A little known gem, Chip N Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-Long is still fun under the stars.
One of the best things about visiting Walt Disney World is going to all the theme parks. Visiting the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom can be a dream come true for most people. The experience and the memories gathered in the parks is unmatched, but it’s certainly not everything. Walt Disney World has so much to offer that not everyone takes the time to experience. There are many little adventures that families can take, some of which won’t even cost you a dime.
The next time you are at Disney World, take an evening to catch an outdoor movie. Most of the resorts on property offer night time showings of popular Disney movies, some of which are on the beach or maybe by the pool. My families favorite spot is Chip N Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-Long. Maybe it’s because I have memories of the campfire as child, when my parents took me there. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of another Disney gem that has stood the test of time or maybe it’s just so much fun that it’s not worth passing up. All of these play a part and I am thankful for it.
Located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Chip N Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-Long is more than just a movie in the great outdoors.
As you arrive you will find folks huddled around the warm blazing campfire roasting marshmallows and hot dogs (all available at the very convenient concession stand). Grab a stick and join in the fun, because that’s just the beginning. Soon, a small stage comes to life with entertainment. You can’t have an outdoor party in the woods without some heel kicking good time music…and that’s just what you get. Trust me, you will find yourself doing the Hokey Pokey real quick.
During the festivities, your hosts Chip N Dale come out to dance and play. They make sure that everyone gets a chance to spend some time with the mischievous duo. Don’t forget your camera and autograph book, because the opportunities a definitely there.
As the sky begins to thicken with darkness, be sure to find a seat on the rustic log benches for the main movie feature. There is a different Disney movie offering every night, anything from old classics to modern favorites. The movie screen is crisp and large and sound system is booming. Add some hot popcorn and your loved ones and you will have a most memorable evening.
The best part is the event is totally free. No admission! When your on a budget at Walt Disney World, that aint half bad.
