Another month has gone by and more progress is being made since our last update in April at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Join me for another full walk around tour through Aruba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Centertown. The resort is still looking forward to a fall completion date (September / October).
Here is what’s going on:
- Old Port Royale (Centertown) is coming along with new building construction. The new area will contain eating facilities, shopping and the main lobby and registration area. The Custom House, which is the current registration area will be moved to this new centralized area.
- The current entrance to the Caribbean Beach will close once construction is finished. The new entrance will run off of Victory Way, which is where the Art of Animation and Pop Century are located.
- Disney’s Riviera Resort is progressing along as well.
- The Disney Skyliner towers are in place near Trinidad South as well as the main loading and transfer station. New tower construction is taking place through Jamaica and Aruba.
See all the pictures here.
Here we can see the progress that Centertown is making. The temporary restaurant is still located in an outside tent and there is a small shopping trailer and bar.
The new Riviera Resort is progressing along as well. The Riviera Skyliner Station looks to have a foundation on the west wide of the building.
The Disney Skyliner is really starting to take shape. There is a full tower up in Jamaica now and multiple towers are in their beginning stages. These towers are located through Jamaica and Aruba. There are towers that run down the bay side opposite of Trinidad South as well.
The Skyliner station for Caribbean Beach is going up fast. They have different sections in place that will accommodate the various transfers between destinations. This is going to be a central hub that will branch off to Hollywood Studios, Art of Animation and Pop Century or to the Riviera and on to Epcot.
Finally, the new Caribbean Beach entrance is almost complete. I was able to exit onto Victory Way through these gates.
