Disney’s Caribbean Beach Old Port Royale Centertown Opening October 8

The wait is finally coming to an end as we get closer to the grand opening of Centertown, Old Port Royal at Disney’s Caribbean Beach.  There was excitement brewing last week during the resorts 30th anniversary.  Hopes were high thinking the opening ceremony would take place on October 1, but things change and we can now confirm October 8 as the first official opening day.

Old Port Royal will now be home to the new breezy front desk and concierge area.  Custom House will no longer be utilized for check in.  Disney’s Magical Express, Disney Cruise Line buses and luggage will all circulate through the brand new Old Port Royal.

Centertown will feature Sebastian’s Bistro (formally Shutters Restaurant), the Banana Cabana Bar and the Calypso Trading Post among other exciting new additions.

The new entrance for Disney’s Caribbean Beach, located off Victory Way, will become fully operational on October 8.  The current entrance off Buena Vista Drive, will no longer admit guests.  It will be used for the new Riviera Resort next year.

The Island Markets located in Jamaica and Aruba will remain open for drink and snack service.  The Island Market in Martinique will close with the opening of Centertown.

Finally, Trinidad North will be changed to Barbados beginning October 8.  Trinidad South will simply become Trinidad.  Trinidad North rooms and decor will all remain the same after changing to Barbados.

Be sure to follow Passport to the Parks during the morning hours on October 8 for live updates.  Let’s all share in the fun together!
