On October 1, 1982 EPCOT Center officially opened. Now we are excited to celebrate 35 years of memories with this amazing park. On October 1, Epcot is planning various events and offering some fun new merchandise in honor of their 35 year milestone. The Disney Parks Blog posted what highlights we can expect.
Commemorative Guide Map – A commemorative Epcot Guidemap and Times Guide will be available at the park’s Main Entrance, at the International Gateway and Guest Relations. These items will only be offered on October 1st.
Anniversary Celebration – Be sure to join in and watch this special celebration at the Fountain View stage, promptly at 10:01 a.m. Mariachi Cobre and Voices of Liberty will provide special entertainment.
Exclusive Anniversary Merchandise – Everyone seems to be most excited about the new anniversary merchandise available on October 1. The “I Was There” collection, designed specifically for this year’s milestone will be available only at a “pop-up” shop (which will be open for one day only/while supplies last). The shop will be located just past the Art of Disney location, only at Epcot. Additional Epcot 35th Anniversary logo merchandise (not a part of the “I Was There” line) will be available in select merchandise locations at the park, such as Mouse Gear and on the Shop Disney Parks app.
Special Edition: IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth – Conclude your day at the park by attending a special edition of the park’s nighttime fireworks show, “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” which begins at 9 p.m.
Who will attending on October 1 and what are you looking forward to the most. Let us know in the comments below.
