I had such a great time at Disney Springs today. First, I took in a movie at the AMC 24, then I did a little shopping at the Marvel and Star Wars stores. All that fun started to make my stomach growl. There are so many great food choices at Disney Springs, which makes it hard to decide where and what to eat. Considering I was already on the West End and the smell of BBQ was in the air, I found myself migrating over to The Smokehouse at the House of Blues.
The Smokehouse is a wonderful quick service extension of the House of Blues restaurant, offering tasty items like pulled pork, beef brisket, pulled chicken and baby back ribs. All the meals come with a choice of baked beans or coleslaw.
I couldn’t resist the pulled pork sandwich and I am always a sucker for coleslaw. The price was very reasonable at $11.99 and my food was ready in a snap.
The outside seating is wonderful, featuring a full bar, live music and plenty of tables. It was a perfect atmosphere to enjoy my afternoon lunch.
My sandwich was filled with a nice amount of tender pulled pork. The pork featured a tasty BBQ sauce that was not overly sweet, but had a nice tang. The Smokehouse provided extra BBQ sauce on the side with a little added kick of spice and sweet honey mustard flavor. The coleslaw was definitely made in house and was not swimming in sauce. It was the perfect match for that awesome smokey BBQ flavor provided by the sandwich.
I really had a great experience at the Smokehouse and would encourage you to try it on your next visit. It’s quick and delicious, and I can’t wait to go back for some baby back ribs.
