The great thing about the Walt Disney World Resort is that there is so much to offer everyone. If you we were to ask 10 people what their idea of the perfect day at Walt Disney World would be you would, more than likely come up with 10 different answers. Also incredible is the fact that if you went back and asked those same 10 people a year later their answers would change. They would change because with each experience that we have at Walt Disney World we find new and amazing things that we might not have known previously existed. No matter how many times one has been to Walt Disney World there is no such thing as knowing it all or having seen it all. We all go back in the hopes of finding new and exciting moments and memories and Walt Disney World never disappoints. With my birthday coming up at the end of the month I thought about what I would love to have happen that day. If I could do anything that I wanted at Walt Disney World for one day what would that be? My choices have to be realistic. I have to have enough time to do everything on my list and the ability to pay for my day. Here is what I have come up with, on this day, as my Perfect Disney Day. Next year I can revisit and I know it will be different in at least a few ways.
I would start my day off by having breakfast at Chef Mickey’s in the Contemporary Resort. Because I would have a dining reservation I could park in the parking lot of the Contemporary Resort. This will greatly save time before and after breakfast. I have always enjoyed Chef Mickey’s for the atmosphere more so than the food. For my preferences I believe that it is the best breakfast buffet that I have enjoyed on property. In fairness the only other two that I have attended have been Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. Of those three I greatly preferred the food and the atmosphere at Chef Mickey’s
After my breakfast I would head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I would make my way to Toy Story Midway Mania. After doing my best to improve my already pathetic scores I would head over to Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream. This would probably be my favorite attraction in all of Walt Disney World. It is a walk through attraction that takes you through the life of Walt Disney and his accomplishments. At the end of the walk through there is an amazing movie that tells Walt Disney’s story and, in most times, in his own words. This is a must see for any Disney fan and always brings a tear to my eye. Upon exiting I would wipe my brow and make my way over to Star Tours. No trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is complete without an interplanetary spaceflight!
At this point it is time to head over to Animal Kingdom for a ride on Kilamanjaro Safaris. I really enjoy the spontaneity of this attraction. Each time I take part in this attraction it is a different experience. While I am at Animal Kingdom and it should be about lunch time I will head over to my favorite quick service location, Flame Tree Barbecue. I love the barbecue pork sandwich, baked beans and cole slaw. I really enjoy the view of Expedition Everest while I eat in the covered sitting area.
Now it is time to head over to EPCOT but to get there I am going to go ahead and park at the Transportation and Ticket Center so I can take the monorail over and my car will be right where I need it to be later that evening. Once entering EPCOT I will catch a ride on Soarin’, learn about the evolution of communication on Spaceship Earth, and travel to Mars on Mission:SPACE. I will then take a leisurely walk through World Showcase and check out anything that I feel like since it is my perfect day. I can guarantee that there will be a stop at the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the Japan Pavilion. I am always drawn to that store.
After two monorail rides I am now at the Magic Kingdom. This is where the rest of my perfect day will take place. If I have planned correctly I will be arriving here around 5pm. I will make a late dinner reservation for Liberty Tree Tavern which is in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom. This sit down restaurant has had my family talking since the first time we enjoyed it years ago. They serve your food in a family style buffet so it is just like eating at the dinner table at Thanksgiving. The food mirrors that of a Thanksgiving dinner as well. I am not a foodie and have no idea how to describe and list the food that they have but I will tell you that it was amazing and worth a trip. Trust me! Before and after dinner I will take in the following attractions: Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover, Mad Tea Party, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. If it is possible I will fit in some other attractions as well but I am trying to keep this day somewhat realistic. My day would be capped off by Wishes nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom and a ferry ride back to my car at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
I hope that someday I will be able to replicate this Perfect Disney Day in real life. What did Walt say? “If you can dream it you can do it.”
