We have entered perhaps my favorite time of the year in Central Florida!  This is a season full of beautiful weather, low crowds, and my favorite, concerts at the theme parks.  These concerts are typically included with the price of admission.  The concerts most frequented by my family, with perhaps the biggest names, are the Mardi Gras Concerts at Universal Studios Orlando running on select nights from Feb. 7, 2015 – April 18, 2015.  These concerts usually start around 8pm-8:30pm and will go on until around 10pm.  They are just like going to a concert at any outdoor venue but you have the backdrop of RipRide Rocket and very consistent stage set up from week to week.  We really enjoy the shows because you can arrive early and stake your claim to a spot up close or you can walk up at the last minute and still stand back and see the stage as well as up-close shots on the 4 giant screens (two flanking the stage and two behind the viewing area).

IMG_8736During the spring the Walt Disney World Resort welcomes the Flower and Garden Festival to EPCOT.  Along with the beautiful topiaries and many events, the festival also includes a concert series on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays.  In recent years it has been the Flower Power Series which featured bands from the 1960’s and 1970’s.  This year it has been renamed the Garden Rocks Concert Series and is bringing in artists from a few decades later as well as some carry overs from past years.  The line-up this year is definitely one that more resembles my taste in music.  These concerts occur three different times during late afternoon and evening.  The sets for each show are around 45 minutes.  If you decide to watch all three shows, you will be asked to leave the American Gardens Theater after each set.  A line forms for great seats to the next show during the previous shows.  In our experience, the last show of the night seems to be the best but also the most crowded.

Not to be left out, Busch Gardens Tampa also has a line-up of concerts during their Food and Wine Festival which occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from March 7, 2015 – April 26, 2014. There are some good names coming to Busch Gardens Tampa.  This will be the first year that we will be attending these concerts so I have no insight to how long the shows are or even where they take place.  We are very excited to experience these concerts for the first time.

SeaWorld Orlando is planning a Praise Wave Music Festival for February 14, 21, & 28 which will feature live performances by Christian Music artists.  They only have the lineup for February 14 which will be Lecrae and American Idol Alumni Colton Dixon.  During the weekends in March, SeaWorld will be hosting Bands, Brew, and BBQ, Honoring America’s Heroes.  No artists have been announced for this celebration as of the writing of this article.

Whatever your favorite style of music might be, I can almost assure you that there will be at least a few names on these lists that you will enjoy.  The great thing about these concerts is the fact that they can be enjoyed in which ever way you choose.  If you just want to catch a few songs and move along, that’s ok.  If you want to be first in line or first to grab your seat, that is great too.  The concerts are included with park admission so they are just a bonus to your day in the theme park.  Below I have included a link that includes a color coded breakdown by date which artists will be performing.  I hope this helps those of you planning a trip to Central Florida or those who are local and love live music to not miss any of the amazing concerts this spring!  Be sure to check back often as the list will be updated as any concerts are added or if there are any cancellations!
