Recently, we saw the Disney Skyliner station light up at Hollywood Studios, now the station at Pop Century and Art of Animation is beautifully illuminated on Hourglass Lake. The retro station blends in perfectly with the surrounding resort lighting and only enhances the luster of Hourglass Lake.
During the day, the gondolas reflect brilliantly off the water, but at night the station steals the show as it shines like a beacon in the night.
It almost feels like a futuristic space port, getting ready to launch passengers off on a breathtaking aerial journey into the night.
The roof is completely lit up from the inside, allowing a perfect view of the inner tracks, wheels and mechanical features that power the massive bull wheel and the gondolas through the station.
There is plenty of light around the gondolas as they cross through the load zone, allowing passengers to safely board.
Now that we see how incredible the station looks at night, we can begin to wonder how the gondolas will look as well. There is power on-board each gondola that can provide interior lighting, music and announcements. It’s unknown if there is any exterior lighting, but it would certainly be beautiful to see over the water if there is.
