It’s exciting to finally see a groundbreaking for the long anticipated Avatar inspired land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Key Disney Park leaders were in attendance along with Lightstorm Entertainment to initiate what is to be the largest expansion in Animal Kingdom history.
Holding the gigantic Na’vi inspired shovels are Chief Creative Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering Bruce Vaughn, president of Walt Disney Parks United States and France Meg Crofton, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Tom Staggs, Imagineer Joe Rohde, Walt Disney World President George Kalogridis and “Avatar” producer Jon Landau.
The new Avatar inspired land will replace the Camp Minnie Mickey area that was recently closed. It is being labeled as an experience unlike anything at other Disney Parks. Guests will be swept into the wondrous world of Pandora, where they will fly with banshees and explore a rich natural environment with mountains that float and interactive plants that glow at night.
