Universal Orlando will be holding a press conference on Thursday August 1, at 10:00am at the Orange County Convention Center. Universal is ready to make a “major announcement” possibly pertaining to ongoing projects.
Rumors of a Jason Bourne themed Stunt Show or a new roller coaster on the Jurassic Park site could be on the agenda, but most likely we will finally get confirmation of a brand new theme park.
The long rumored third park could possibly be named “Fantastic Worlds” or “Epic Universe” and will most likely be built on 500 acres of undeveloped land east of International Drive. It is bordered to the north by Sand Lake Road and to the south by Destination Parkway. Plans are already underway to connect Sand Lake Road to Universal Blvd.
The new plans could include multiple hotels, retail establishments and an entertainment complex. Some of the potential properties that could be featured withing the new park are Nintendo and Dreamworks, including Kung-Fu Panda, Madagascar, How To Train Your Dragon, Trolls and Shrek. Classic Universal Monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein could also find new attractions.
The new property is actually visible from the Orange County Convention Center, where Thursdays announcement will take place.
