Disney Skyliner Construction Updates Gondola Cables At Hollywood Studios

The Disney Skyliner made a huge leap in progress with the installation of the very first gondola cables.  On November 17, a top set of cables appeared between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  The very top cable is primarily used for communication between towers.  The two cables running parallel on top of the towers are used to dissipate electrical energy in case of a lightening strike.

Eventually the main haul rope that supports the gondola vehicles was installed.  These are the thick cables that run through the wheels or Sheaves on the towers.
